To design our community, we worked with the fabulous Kraus Fitch Architects. We began with our priorities, and then moved to our designs, and from there to our plans.
We are sharing a wonderful 65 acre site in Berlin, MA with Camelot Cohousing - we are building on a total of 7-8 acres, leaving the remainder in conservation and open space. We are further south on the site, towards the field.

These plans have evolved significantly since our environmental design workshop. We are pursuing a super insulated strategy in the units, with an electric base system and an option for a point source heater that will either be pellet stove or a Rinnai has in wall heater.

We have 4 types of buildings, holding a total of 5 types of units - 1 bedroom flats (636 sq ft), 2 bedroom townhouses (864 sq ft), Small 3 bedroom townhouses (1040 sq ft), Large 3 bedroom townhouses (1408 sq ft), and 4 bedroom townhouses (1784 sq ft). Our buildings are mostly triplexes, with one duplex type.
