Mosaic Commons is committed to creating a community of economic diversity. We will do as much as we can to create affordable options for households that otherwise might not be able to be a part of our community. In order to do this, we will consider:
- pricing subsidies within the group, such as larger units paying a larger proportion of common costs,
- external options, including private grants, government funding, low-interest loans from community-minded banks, and fundraising.
We have also agreed to a voluntary sliding scale based on household income to determine contributions to monthly fees and other community costs after move-in.
We will actively explore options for affordability structuring, and we welcome suggestions on this front.
Mosaic Commons is part of a 40b project, and 10 of our 34 units will be sold below market rate in keeping with state affordable housing guidelines.
