Web & Email Resources

Mosaic Commons maintains a substantial set of Web and email resources for our community and those who are interested in it.

Email

The published email address for Mosaic Commons is info@mosaic-commons.org [1].

We maintain the following email lists. All lists will automatically send replies back to the whole group, not just to the person who sent the message. If you want to respond privately, note the email address of the sender and forward the message to that person, or edit the "To" field of your email.

Interest The Interest list is our public list, where all are welcome to join. You can join it from the Mosaic Commons website.

This list gets event invitations and reminders, and monthly updates on our progress. Traffic is under 10 messages per month.

Discussion Discussion is our private discussion list, for those who are actively involved in the group. People are invited to join the list after they have attended one of our General Meetings.

A lot of work gets done on this list between meetings — traffic can be 200-300 messages per month. Event reminders are also sent to this list.

Members This list is for Associates and Equity Members of Mosaic Commons only. We use it for confidential discussions. The list is generally fairly low-traffic.

Equity

This list is for Equity Members of Mosaic Commons only; it only gets a few messages a year.

We also maintain some information for those who are actively involved with the group on the Yahoo!Groups site for mosaic-commons, at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mosaic-commons/ [32]. In order to get to the content on this site, you must be a member of that Yahoo! group. If you are having trouble accessing it, mail to info@mosaic-commons.org [33]

Areas on this site include:

Older Message Archives http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mosaic-commons/messages
[34]
Confidential Files http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mosaic-commons/files/ [35]
Contact List http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mosaic-commons/database [36]
Polls http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mosaic-commons/polls [37]

The message archives are text-searchable as well as chronological. More recent mail archives are also available but not currently searchable. We use the Files area for information that we don't want to give to the general public, such as contracts, land proposals, budgets, etc. All active participants in the group should keep their contact information up-to-date on the contact list.

We use the polls area to help us organize events, and make some decisions between meetings. Some notes on generating polls: "Vote for more than one choice" will often give better results than "Vote for one choice", especially if you are trying to schedule an event. You should always set "display voter identity with each vote". For example, if you would like to find out whether Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday night is better for a meeting, set "Vote for more than one choice" — this will allow you to see how many people can attend each night, and choose the day where more households can be represented.
